Privacy Policy

Who we are. LayLedger is operated by Techware Outsourcing (Pty) Ltd, South Africa. Contact: musas@techware.tech.

What we collect. Your name, phone number, farm name, and the farm records you or your workers log (egg counts, feed and water usage, flock and mortality records, vaccination schedules, customers, and sales). We do not collect payment card details, ID numbers, or location data.

Why we collect it (POPIA). We process this information solely to provide the LayLedger service to your farm: showing your dashboard and reports, sending you operational alerts (e.g. vaccination reminders, low feed stock), and account security. This is processing necessary to perform our contract with you under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

WhatsApp. Once WhatsApp logging is live, messages you send to the LayLedger number are processed to record your farm data and reply to you. Message content may be processed by an AI language-model provider strictly to interpret your instruction; it is not used to train models and is not sold or shared for advertising.

Sharing. Your farm's data is visible only to your farm's own accounts (owner and workers you add). We never sell personal information. Service providers we rely on (Cloudflare for hosting and storage, Meta for WhatsApp delivery, our AI provider for message interpretation) process data only on our instructions.

Retention & deletion. We keep your records for as long as your account is active. Email musas@techware.tech from your registered details to have your farm's account and all its data deleted; we action deletion requests within 30 days.

Security. Passwords are stored only as salted, peppered cryptographic hashes; sessions are signed; data is stored with Cloudflare with encryption in transit and at rest.

Your rights. Under POPIA you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) — inforegulator.org.za.
